"Don't Post This" is a Chrome extension that checks text you are about to post publicly for potential career, legal, and reputation risks. It uses AI to analyze your text and provide a warning if it detects something risky.
None. We do not collect, store, log, or share any personal data, browsing history, or user information. We do not use cookies or tracking of any kind.
When you click a submit or post button, the text in the nearby text field is sent to our private backend server for AI analysis. Here is exactly what happens:
1. Your text is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our server.
2. Our server forwards the text to the Anthropic Claude API for analysis.
3. The AI returns a risk assessment (safe or risky, with an explanation).
4. The result is sent back to your browser and displayed.
5. Your text is immediately discarded. It is not stored, logged, saved to a database, or retained in any way on our server or anywhere else.
We use the Anthropic Claude API to perform AI analysis. Text sent to the API is processed according to Anthropic's usage policies. As of the date of this policy, Anthropic does not use API inputs to train its models. Please refer to Anthropic's privacy policy for details.
We store nothing. There is no database, no user accounts, no analytics, no logs of your text. Our server processes your request in real time and discards it immediately after responding.
The extension requests access to all websites so it can detect submit buttons and check text on any site you use — not just specific social media platforms. It does not read or access any page content until you click a submit button.
This extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
If we make changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
If you have questions about this privacy policy, you can reach us by opening an issue on our GitHub repository.
